Instead of Mrs. Smith, Samantha came to visit with another girl, about her age, who looked similar to Samantha, only with brown eyes and long brown hair. Samantha introduced the girl as her sister Linda and said she would be coming with her every Wednesday, Samantha asked if Jesus had read Leviticus 11, to which he said yes, and they had a brief discussion about the contents. Then the topic of conversation turned to the Ten Commandments, and the most neglected of the commandments, the fourth: “Remember the sabbath day and to keep it holy”. The Smith sisters explained that the Jews and the Adventists were the only religions that observed the sabbath, that a long time ago the Catholics changed the holy day to Sunday. Twenty Two Suny Returns to Mexico When Jesus went to prison in October of 1996, Suny was unable to accept the fact that her son was a criminal. It was not only the shock and shame of how her son turned out; it was a deep feeling of loneliness, a hole left in her heart by his absence. He had endured all the struggles of the past eighteen years by her side, and now he was gone. Her brother Raciel was distant, dealing with his own limitations and family. All she had was Uncle Mo, but she didn’t feel any kind of family ties with him. Better said, he was her employer and little else. She stayed up until two or three o’clock in the morning, sewing or doing crochet, often falling asleep in a chair with the needlework in her lap, only to have Jesus wake her up at five o’clock to prepare breakfast with his help.
